About the Sanctuary

Pumpkin Ridge Animal Sanctuary, located on the grounds of Equestrian Ridge Farm, officially obtained non-profit status in 2024, but our history stretches back far longer. The property was originally purchased as a horseback riding, boarding, and training facility in 2000, but the Great Recession of 2008–2009 brought severe economic changes to the region.

We began to notice an increase in people who could no longer afford to care for their horses and other animals, and the farm became a soft landing place for many of these abandoned animals.

Over the years, we have taken in and rehabilitated dozens of animals who live out their lives at the sanctuary, and so many people have fallen in love with them just like we have. What visitors come to love and expect from Equestrian Ridge Farm has simply expanded, and we’re continuing to offer rescue horse rides as well as farm animal visits to the public. Come visit and experience the magic of Pumpkin Ridge Animal Sanctuary for yourself!
