Our Sanctuary Animals
Meet the animals who call the sanctuary home! Each one is an individual with their own personality and story, and we’re so grateful to share them with you!
-
Wally
Wally is a Belgian draft horse at almost 19 hands tall. He was an Amish work horse who was saved from slaughter in 2022 and is now happy to take you out on guided tours and be loved.
-
Onyx
Onyx is a Rocky Mountain Horse who was purchased locally from a neglectful situation. He is recovering from trauma. While he’s not currently a riding horse, he’s found a safe home here.
-
Duke
Duke, a gaited Morgan, was an owner surrender who had experienced past abuse. He’s now always safe and cautious with his riders, including the smallest ones.
-
Charlie
Charlie is a Gaited Saddle Horse and was an owner surrender who is learning to accept the kindness of people and tolerate other horses.
-
Jade
Jade is a Percheron who was previously kept in a stall 24/7 and had never been outside. Here at the sanctuary she’s learning to be a horse for the first time.
-
Zeke
Zeke, a draft horse mix, was being sent to slaughter. He was likely a work horse, was under weight and had severe strain in his front legs. He is now healing from his past and starting his trail ride journey.
-
Gigi
Gigi is a registered Quarter Horse who was an owner surrender. She was likely an orphan who was well taken care of, but had limited exposure to the outdoors. She is now a willing trail horse.
-
Rosie
Rosie is a Quarter Horse who was rescued by a Good Samaritan. We took her in with no knowledge of her history, and she’s now one of our most helpful horses along the trail.
-
Pillsbury
Pillsbury was purchased as a child’s pet and was later surrendered. He’s now chief goat herd overseer.
-
Ms. Piggy
Ms. Piggy was our first pig resident. She was originally purchased as a house pet who became disruptive in the home and was later surrendered to us.
-
Porky
Porky was rescued by a Good Samaritan who found him running down the road and was then surrendered by the rescuer.
-
Donald
Donald’s mother rejected him and he was raised here at the sanctuary as a pet. He can be seen in some trail ride photos as a young pig.
-
Bootsy
Bootsy came to us from a neglectful situation as a young pig and is now happy here with us on the farm.
-
The Farm Goats
Our goats were a herd who appeared on the property in fall of 2021. We embraced our new herd and all of the unexpected new arrivals that came later. We are now the recipients of goat milk, cheese, yogurt, and soap.
-
The Farm Chickens
We started with a few chickens and have taken in occasional owner surrenders. They supply us with lots of eggs and wake-up calls.
